JUDY BOIVIN
Registered Physiotherapist

Judy received her Physiotherapy degree from the University of Toronto. She has worked as a Registered Physiotherapist since 1986, successfully operating Milton Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic since 1989. She has taken numerous post graduate courses in manual therapy, muscle energy techniques and craniosacral therapy. She has done extensive training in acupuncture and is certified with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada.

Judy does a large number of educational seminars each year for large companies, schools and sports teams on injury prevention. She has a special interest in sports injuries and working with children. Judy’s goal is to build a team of self-motivated, highly skilled physiotherapists who will demonstrate to their patients and the community the many benefits of physiotherapy.
 

MIKE POTKONYAK
Registered Physiotherapist

Mike graduated with an honors degree in physiotherapy from Queen’s University in 2004, he began working in Burlington, and then joined the Milton Physiotherapy team in 2005. He has taken orthopedic and manual therapy courses as well as courses specializing in the assessment and treatment of the lumbar spine and sacroiliac joint.

Mike completed his kinesiology degree in 1997 from Simon Fraser University and has an extensive background in exercise prescription, exercise therapy and personal training. During his time as a kinesiologist he has worked in the orthopedic setting to develop his assessment and treatment skills.  Mike has completed extracurricular coursework in functional assessment, ergonomics and acupuncture.

Mike has been involved in competing in a number of sports at an elite/professional level, including both tennis and soccer. He has developed a special interest in muscle balance, joint stability and functional movement retraining in treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Mike provides an evidence-based approach to his treatment sessions as well as implementing ergonomic solutions along with manual therapy, modalities and exercise.

ANNE-MARIE ROCHELEAU
Registered Physiotherapist

Anne-Marie graduated from the University of Montreal in 1981. She benefits from 25 years of experience and continuing education training in the fields of orthopaedics, sports and occupational injuries. Her treatments reflect a special interest in manual therapy techniques and a strong focus on exercises to help restore optimum muscular balance and function.

For 11 year Anne-Marie lived and worked in Washington State, giving her a unique perspective on physiotherapy, having taken many continuing education courses in the United States. Joining Milton Physiotherapy in 2006, she brought with her, many effective therapeutic treatment techniques from which her clients benefit. She is a tremendous asset to our team of physiotherapists.

NADIA QURESHI
Registered Physiotherapist

Nadia graduated from McMaster University in 2006, with her Masters in Physiotherapy.  She previously earned her Kinesiology Degree from York University in 2004. In addition to these qualifications she is certified as a Physical Fitness and Lifestyle Consultant.

Nadia has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals and private physiotherapy clinics. Her work has primarily focused on orthopedic and sports related injuries, although she has done work with cancer and dialysis patients as well. Nadia believes in a thorough assessment to determine the individualized needs of each client, prior to establishing a treatment plan. She often incorporates exercise, manual therapy, education and acupuncture into the physiotherapy she provides.

Nadia is able to communicate to her clients in English, Urdu and Hindi. Her personal interests include fitness, outdoor activities, reading and playing with her nieces and nephews.

LOURDES (LOU) ABAD
Registered Massage Therapist

Lou graduated from ICT Kikkawa Massage Therapy College in July 2004. While she was at Massage College, Lou accumulated over 250 hours of practical experience in various settings such as: pregnancy clinic; Variety Village (sports complex for physically challenged); and the People with Aids Foundation. Before starting her career as a massage therapist she spent over 10 years working in the travel industry and traveling to different parts of the world.

Lou started her massage career in 2004 at a very busy day Spa, and went on to work in  2 different Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Clinics prior to starting at Milton Physiotherapy in 2007. She has experience treating a variety of conditions such as whiplash, frozen shoulder, arthritis, work injuries, sports injuries and pregnancy massage to name a few. Lou is very dedicated to her career as a massage therapist. She loves to help people get rid of pain so they can enjoy an improved quality of life.

RAY VICKERS
Registered Massage Therapist

Ray graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2007. He also holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo in Applied Health Science and is a certified member of the Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA). Before starting his career as a massage therapist, Ray worked as a Personal Trainer for 5 years.

Ray has an extensive background in exercise testing, prescription, rehabilitation, and performance exercise. His experience varies from: Candidate Physical Ability Testing (CPAT) for firefighters, Moto-Cross fitness testing and exercise prescription, to Cancer Rehabilitation for individuals undergoing chemo, radiation, or hormonal therapy treatment, to name a few.  Ray’s knowledge in massage therapy varies in assessment and treatment on: varsity and endurance athletes, motor vehicle accidents, individuals diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, those suffering from headaches/migraine and the geriatric population.

Ray is passionate about every individual that he has the opportunity to treat.  His goal is to remain current in his field and continue his education in order to appease his clientele with relaxation techniques and treatment of soft tissue dysfunctions.  He looks forward to treating you and thanks you in advance for allowing him to be a part of your health care team.

ASHLEY CARLETON
Certified Kinesiologist

Ashley obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario in 2007.  The focus of her studies was in Athletic Injuries and Biomechanics.  Ashley is a Certified member of the Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA).  She continues her education through OKA with courses in Ergonomics and Body Movement. 

Ashley has worked as the Trainer for the Women’s Varsity Soccer team at University of Western Ontario.  She has also volunteered in the medical tent at the Gus Macker Basketball Tournaments. Her experiences and her own interest in sports has taught her about many different injuries, giving her a strong interest in the rehabilitation process.

PAM SHABAGA
Certified Pedorthist, Physiotherapist

Pam Shabaga graduated with distinction in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She has worked as a physiotherapist in the fields of respiratory, orthopedics, rheumatology and in a hospital burn unit. She has also had experience working in a neurological rehabilitation ward, as well as doing home care physiotherapy. Pam has continuously taken post-graduate courses to stay current and expand her knowledge to include many specialties within the rehabilitation field.

In 2001, Pam entered the field of pedorthotics upon moving to Ontario, and began to do work for Milton Physiotherapy and River Ridge Physiotherapy patients. Pam uses a precise 3-dimensional digital cast to fabricate all of her custom-made orthotics. Working now as a Certified Pedorthist, her experience in physiotherapy gives her tremendous insight into patient’s conditions and proves valuable in understanding their orthotic needs.
